The difference between Democrats and Republicans
One day a florist goes to the Beartown barber for a haircut.
After the cut he asked about his
bill and the barber replies, "I cannot
accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week."
The florist is pleased and leaves
the shop. Next morning when the barber goes to open his shop,
there is a thank you card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his
door.
Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his
bill the barber again replies, "I cannot
accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week."
The cop is happy and leaves the shop. Next morning when the
barber goes to open up there is a thank you card and a dozen donuts
waiting for him at his door.
Later a Republican comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay
his bill the barber again replies, "I
cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this
week." The Republican is very happy and leaves the shop.
Next morning when the barber goes to open, there is a thank you card
and a dozen different books, such as "How to Improve Your
Business" and "Becoming More Successful."
Then a Democrat comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his
bill the barber again replies, "I cannot
accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week."
The Democrat is very happy and leaves the shop. The next morning
when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen Democrats lined
up waiting for a free haircut.
And that, my friends, illustrates the
fundamental difference between left and right.

Denver, CO A
seven-year old boy was at the center of a Douglas
County courtroom drama today when he challenged a
court ruling over who should have custody of him.
The boy has a history of being beaten by his
parents and the judge initially awarded custody to
his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and
regulation requiring that family unity be
maintained to the highest degree possible. The boy
surprised the court when he proclaimed that his
aunt beat him more than his parents and he
adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge
then suggested that he live with his grandparents,
the boy cried and said that they also beat him.
After considering the remainder of the immediate
family and learning that domestic violence was
apparently a way of life among them, the judge
took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to
propose who should have custody of him. After
two recesses to check legal references and confer
with the child welfare officials, the judge
granted temporary custody to the Denver Broncos,
whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of
beating anyone.
