ANOTHER BEAR ENCOUNTER George Wilson, an old farmer, was driving down the Brook Road early Saturday morning and spotted a yearling bear feeding under an apple tree. He stopped his pickup truck and went to take a closer look neglecting to close his driver's door. The small bear walked a circuitous route around George toward the road. Neither the radio nor engine noise frightened the young bear and she climbed right into the truck. George carefully got in and started to drive. The bear seemed to enjoy the motion of the truck. George
went directly to Constable Densmore's house and asked
what he should do with the bear. The constable suggested
he take her to a zoo. Four days later Constable Densmore
saw George at the general store with the bear still in
the truck. He asked George if he had taken the bear to a
zoo. "I did," said the old farmer "and she
liked it so much that now I'm taking her to Disneyland."
